Savon de Marseille Liquid Hand Soap - Lavender

I really enjoyed using the Savon de Marseille Liquid Hand Soap. The lavender scent was soothing and not too overwhelming. It left my hands feeling clean and soft without over drying them. I thought the bottle is a beautiful simplistic design as well. It looks great on the bathroom sink.

Although I haven't had this soap for long, it has already become one of my favorites. The scent is bright and refreshing. The soap is very smooth and doesn't need much to leave your hands feeling spotless. Last but not least, the bottle has a nice classy design and is a nice touch to my sink area. I was surprised by the residue left behind, and it is very reminiscent of bar soap and has that sticky feel after rinsing. I am ok with bar soap, but I do prefer liquid soap as it leaves me feeling cleaner, and thought this aspect might be undesirable for people who gravitate towards liquid soap if they dislike the sticky residue left by bar soap. The packaging was also somewhat hard to open, and it took some force to open the pump. This does mean it was very secure and unlikely to leak during shipping! In summary, I was pleased by the scent and performance of the product, but did see some downsides that would turn me off repeatedly purchasing this product.

The feel of the soap itself was actually very rich! It did not feel drying at all and created a microfoam like texture. It is lavender scented, but it smells more muted/natural lavender. I did a bit of research and appears this branding is different than their past and the new look just screams luxury. I love the new labels. The smell is a beautiful but subtle lavender - not too overwhelming but calming while you scrub. The soap has Argan and Coconut oils which really leave your hands feeling nourished. It's almost like a silicon coating when you finish washing - in a really good way. It is not silicon - just the oils but it leaves a natural coating that keeps your hands hydrated. You hardly need any product at all. Just an half pump and you'll have more than enough so it will last forever. Other soaps leave my hands peeling and cracking especially in the winter months but this is my new go-to. I would highly recommend this product for all the rooms in your home.

If you have extremely dry hands I would recommend still using a hand lotion after washing, but I did not find this soap to be particularly drying. I did notice a satisfying clean feeling and a slight cooling sensation. Overall, I would recommend this to anyone who needs a gentle clean, luxurious feel, and barely-there natural scent. The consistency of the soap is a little more slippery and gel-like than some of the other hand soaps I've used recently like Aesop. But it suds up well and leaves a really lovely mild and natural smelling lavender scent on your hands. Not overpowering, and doesn't feel artificial at all. It is not as moisturizing as Aesop is, so it's best for people who like that extra clean feeling after using soap. Though I'd say it's still leaves my hands softer than using bar soap or any other "squeaky clean" type of soaps that are more drying. Overall, I find it to be a nice clean with a great scent and worth buying again.
